What we did.
MTC is Namibia's largest mobile operator, and its head office is the room the company brings clients into. A revamp of a building like that is judged on the finish. Every downlight has to line up, every floor box has to land where the table actually sits, and there can be no visible compromise anywhere a visitor will look.
We carried out the electrical installation for the head office revamp with Nawa Nawa Construction in 2022. The boardrooms took the most care: power and data brought up through the floor into the table itself, feature lighting set into the ceiling bulkheads, and a lighting layout planned around the video wall so nothing reflects into the screen during a meeting.

What the job involved.
Boardroom power and data
Floor boxes positioned to the millimetre so cabling comes up inside the table rather than across the carpet.
Feature lighting
Recessed and cove lighting set into the ceiling bulkheads, wired for separate control so the room can be set for presenting or for meeting.
Screen-aware layout
Lighting planned so the video wall stays readable and nothing glares back at the people facing it.
Reception and public areas
Double-height reception lighting, and the branded areas visitors see first.
Working around the client
A head office cannot close. The work was sequenced around the building staying in use.
Certified on handover
Tested and certified to SANS 10142 before handover, and guaranteed for 24 months.
