Lüderitz sits where the Namib desert runs into the South Atlantic, and the air carries salt inland every single day. That one fact changes electrical work more than anything else about the town.
Enclosures corrode. Fixings rust out. Connections that would sit quietly for twenty years in Windhoek start giving trouble in three or four. - Are you based in Lüderitz?No — our workshop and office are in Windhoek, and we travel to Lüderitz for projects. We have worked there continuously since 2019 and across the whole waterfront development through 2024 and 2025, so we know the town, the buildings and the local conditions.
- Is it worth bringing an electrician from Windhoek?For a small repair, probably not, and we will tell you so. For a project of any size — a building, a refit, a compliance job on a commercial property — it usually is, because the cost of travel is small next to the cost of work that has to be redone.
- Why does the coast need different electrical work?Salt. The air on that coast corrodes fittings, fixings, enclosures and connections far faster than inland air does. Standard specifications that last decades in Windhoek can fail in a few years in Lüderitz. Choosing the right materials is most of the job.
- How quickly can you get to Lüderitz?Lüderitz is a long drive from Windhoek, so we plan rather than promise. Tell us your timeline and we will give you honest dates — and if we already have a team on the coast, sooner.
- Can you issue a compliance certificate in Lüderitz?Yes. We inspect the installation against SANS 10142, give you a written report of anything that needs attention, fix what needs fixing, and certify it — the same as anywhere else in the country.
